Instructions and data make up the foundation of Imogen’s multi-media practice and it can be broken down into steps of collection, connection and representation. Currently her practise focuses on an exploration into the relationship between images and comparing methods of creating connections.

Using AI to find images that are related varies greatly to drawing human connections between images. AI will look for similarities in the formal elements of images and has the capacity to recognise certain objects within images such as faces, houses and text. AI also draws connections through the information that the URL of the image reveals.

The connecting images that are found through the AI’s process create a journey that would be virtually impossible for a person to replicate.
