Daisy Grange

Working to navigate the intersections amidst textiles and contemporary printmaking, I draw upon the central theme of translation to guide my making process. Although I practice in both mediums, I present my work in the absence of the physical textile, creating a sensitive distance between subject and outcome. My interests lie in the intricacy of process, creating a production line of mechanisms that transform textile into print, but preserve its recognisable form. I use silkscreen printing, monoprinting and digital scanning to enclose the captured image within the confines of a frame, transforming 3D into 2D.
