Brahman’s Rehearsal — a virtual reality film — screenings

Brahman’s Rehearsal is a virtual reality film by Alex Neish that explores the representation of fictional minds within the medium. It is the prelude to a larger project that examines the stories constructed by thoughts about selfhood, memory and identity. In Brahman’s Rehearsal, you experience the self-communion of Steve, a grief-stricken consciousness who has recently lost his wife.

Memento – exhibition – 6 May 2024

Poster for Memento exhibition

Memento is an exhibition at Seagulls in Leeds which showcases the work of seven young artists and invites you into each artist’s individual space.

Memento speaks to the sentimentality of production. Through process-driven artwork, we seek to reminisce on an instant. To communicate the intangible. A moment where materiality connects with a fleeting occurrence of personality.

Techniques and crafts are shared through generations, and these bonds belong to the process. Through repetition we reminisce, we learn and we connect.

This repetitive process of creation allows a person to be lulled into an introspective space of calm. Traditional techniques can transport us to space, and no two people will experience this in the same way. The outcomes of our creations act as a portal to our individual, intimate landscape.

Open Bracket – exhibition – 6 & 7 December 2023

Artworks in a studio

Open Bracket is a collective exhibition displaying the works in progress of final year Fine Art undergraduate students.

The exhibition is centred around practice in progress, allowing viewers an insight into the movement and development of studio practice as of teaching week 10.

The work is situated in a gallery format, offering an intimate behind-the-scenes snapshot of the breadth of practices breathing and growing within our fine art studios.

Each artist’s contributions act as an informal introduction to their work, and collectively, our debut as the graduating class of 2024.
