My artwork is primarily a social spatial political practice that aims to explore and question how institutional frameworks and spaces are designed to secure control and power over those who use them.
This year I have been particularly interested in the ways in which surveillance has been used to increase this feeling of homogenous control throughout the art school that I am a part of and how it reflects the concerning levels of control that are being imposed upon its inhabitants by the university and those who enforce their polices.
Within my current practice I have explored these themes through site specific camera and video installations. Much of this work is supported with more sculptural work which explores the physical qualities of the camera itself and plays with the audiences understanding of surveillance and the tools that facilitate it.
